Common questions
What is a chiropractic adjustment?
An adjustment is a hands-on technique in which a chiropractor applies a quick, controlled force to a joint of the spine or body, using their hands or an instrument.
It is one of several services we offer. Whether it is part of your visit is decided during your in-person evaluation.
What does an adjustment feel like?
Most people feel pressure and movement at the joint. Some hear a pop or crack. Published sources attribute that sound to gas released from the fluid in the joint.
Mild soreness, stiffness, or tiredness afterward is commonly reported and usually fades within about a day. Tell us if anything feels uncomfortable during or after your visit.
Is it safe, and who should not get one?
Adjustments are performed by licensed chiropractors, and published sources describe serious complications as very rare. Because it is not appropriate for everyone, we take a history and perform an exam first.
Tell us before your visit about any numbness, tingling, or weakness in an arm or leg, bone-density concerns, a history of cancer, stroke risk, neck bone problems, or pregnancy. These affect whether an adjustment is appropriate for you.
What happens at my first visit?
Your first visit is the New Patient Exam ($139). We take your history, examine you, and talk through what comes next. Imaging may be recommended when your evaluation calls for it.
Walk-ins are welcome Monday through Friday, 8–11 AM and 12–5 PM, or call ahead.
How many visits will I need?
That is set only after your in-person evaluation, and it is different for each person. We cannot tell you a number over the phone or on this page, and we do not promise a specific result.
