What testing measures
Force
Ground reaction force, measured as you stand, jump, or pull on the plates.
Left vs. right
Two plates show left, right, and total force, so asymmetry can be compared.
Repeatable
Tests are repeated the same way each time so results can be compared over time.
Common questions
What is a force plate?
A force plate is a platform with sensors that measures the ground reaction force you produce when you stand, walk, run, or jump on it. Values such as velocity, power, and displacement are calculated from that force data.
What does testing measure?
Force over time, power, and how force is shared between your left and right sides. Results are data points you can compare from one test day to the next.
What does a testing session involve?
Common tests include a countermovement jump and an isometric mid-thigh pull (a maximal-force pull against a fixed bar). Which tests we run is confirmed when you book.
Do I need to be an athlete?
No. Force plates are used by sports practitioners for strength and power testing and by clinicians for movement analysis. If you want data on how you move and produce force, call and ask.
How do I prepare?
Wear athletic clothes and the shoes you train in, warm up as you normally would, and tell us about any injury or health concern ahead of time. For comparable results, retests should follow the same routine and time of day.
