SHOCKWAVE THERAPY
A non-invasive therapy that uses focused acoustic pulses, offered at Impact Performance as part of a broader care plan determined after an in-person evaluation.
What Is Shockwave Therapy?
Shockwave therapy (sometimes called ESWT, or extracorporeal shockwave therapy) delivers focused acoustic pulses into soft tissue. It's applied directly to the skin over the targeted area with a handheld applicator — no incision, no injection.
Impact Performance uses equipment from Shockwave Centers of America (SCOA), and our team has completed SCOA's practitioner training program for this equipment.

Impact Performance is an independently owned and operated business. We are an equipment customer and certified affiliate of Shockwave Centers of America (SCOA), not an SCOA-operated location.
Decided In Person
Whether shockwave therapy is part of your visit is determined after an in-person evaluation, not from this page. If it is, it is delivered as a Performance Visit, with or without an adjustment.
Described here for general information. We do not promise any specific result.
What to Expect
- Evaluation — confirming whether shockwave therapy is appropriate for you
- Application — gel is applied to the targeted area, then the applicator delivers pulses in a slow, controlled motion
- Sensation — most patients feel some discomfort during a session; intensity is adjusted based on your tolerance
- Afterward — mild soreness in the targeted area for a day or two is common, similar to a hard workout
How It's Billed
Shockwave therapy falls under our Performance Visit pricing ($89 for non-members) — the same flat rate whether your visit includes shockwave, laser, cryotherapy, or soft tissue work, with no separate modality upcharge. Members receive this as part of their included visits. See our membership details for the full breakdown.
Shockwave Therapy FAQ
Does it hurt?
Most patients feel some discomfort during a session. The intensity is adjustable, and your provider will work within your tolerance.
How many sessions will I need?
It varies by person and is determined after an in-person evaluation — we don't estimate this sight unseen.
Is this covered by insurance?
Impact Performance operates on a self-pay, membership-based model rather than billing insurance. Superbills are available on request.
Can this be combined with other therapies?
Yes — shockwave is often used alongside chiropractic care and other recovery modalities as part of a broader plan, not on its own.
START WITH A NEW PATIENT EXAM
Every new patient at Impact Performance starts with a New Patient Exam ($139). We sit down, talk through your goals, and walk you through how the practice works: what a visit looks like, how membership pricing works, and what's included. From there, the direction is yours.
